When you reblog anything, it makes your tumbler page look like shit.
He’ll see you next week.
Last Wednesday (3-10-2010) I was riding back into town from a ride and I was hit by a Dodge Ram (traveling the opposite direction making a left hand turn) that failed to yield and didn’t see me. The truck struck me on my left side, throwing me down the road perpendicular to the direction I was riding. Needless to say, my bike was destroyed and I was taken to the local ER where I found out that I have a non-displaced fracture to the pelvis as well as some road rash and swelling/bruising. I am moving around on crutches, but am still having some issues with pain and swelling, not to mention the thought that I can’t ride a bike for a while. I will soon meet with an orthopedic surgeon who will most likely clear me with no surgery, prescribe physical therapy and give me a timeframe of full recovery. I have been very fortunate to have amazing support and help from Mary, Rhett & the rest of my friends and family. It’s very hard for me to depend on people, but I have learned that sometimes you don’t have a choice but to ask for help. In the meantime there will be no riding/training at all & hopefully this will all be over fast!
Thick fog this morning would have made a pretty dangerous ride. Too depressed to ride inside. Excuses excuses!
It seems like forever since i had two days in a row of riding outside. Nothing major, but it’s a nice change to feel the resistance of actual wind. Looks like the temp will be ~60 tomorrow! Might attempt a quick morning ride before work.
My new Tech Fluid trainer finally arrived from Blackburn. Thanks again to the guys @ Easton, Bell Sports, Blackburn. I was getting sick of rollers & I even fell off them a few days ago. Lots of outdoor riding is just around the corner. Until then, I’ll try my best to wear this thing out. I’m feeling strong right now, but the true test will come in the next few weeks as I build more.
Bath time with Jett!
2 more body pump classes later I think I might be getting the hang of it. I am thoroughly enjoying it and the pain it brings. I’m on the trainer now, then off to work in 45. Feeling pretty good and finally I think I’m done with illness for a while.
Snow is forecasted tomorrow morning into Saturday with significant accumulation. Mary is trying to get home to see her family tomorow night as well! Who knows, maybe we’ll be wearing shorts and tank tops tomorrow?! It is Indiana after all. Safe journey to anyone who will be traveling by car (or bike) in the next few days.
My girl is so beautiful. I love you, Mary!
Not usually a re-blogger, but do you blame me?!
Do work son!
